Established in 2009, this event, created by volunteers and driven by community spirit will be the same much-loved family day out as years gone by, however we are delighted to now be part of the bigger Mount Helena Classic.
The Whim connects locals and visitors to the region to explore and experience a showcase of local talent – music, businesses and organisations – we welcome you to come and soak in some good old fashioned fun.
In spirit of good old-fashioned fun, we encourage visitors to help us Turn Back Time by dressing in period clothing. There will be prizes!
An all-day program of music will cover two stages featuring local bands and singers – think Blues Confusion – and the return of bands from Eastern Hills State High School.
There will be activities for all ages including, bean bag throw, pedal power and photos in front of a fairy tale castle for the youngsters and laser tag for the older kids to name a few. Check out the hand drawn portraits, a heritage bicycle display, the tradie’s corner and stalls selling all manner of goodies.
Food and coffee aplenty with local wine tasting available.
The Whim Photography Exhibition is also open to all ages with a range prizes on offer. The Photography Exhibition theme will be announced in due course, (we’re thinking perhaps something evoking the past). Keep a lookout for details.
The Whim is an inclusive, environmentally friendly event and we look forward to welcoming you to the natural setting of Pioneer Park in Mount Helena, on Sunday, October 27th 2019, to experience a slice of nostalgia.
